Prior to the Pre-Season Cup kicking off our team of writers at BOTN (across Australia and NZ) were asked to lock in their predictions for the season. They were asked to give each of the eight teams in this year's A-League competition a final position placing after the 21 rounds, from 1st to 8th!

Our team picked all over the shop, but on a consolidated basis we predicted that the end of season table might be:

I suppose you think we clearly don't know what we are doing? You are probably right!


Methodology: Each person gives places 1-8, and the team with the lowest average placing is the 1st on the table. Equal results are separated by finding the median score for that team.

Current pre-season form seems to have little to do with it! Central Coast Mariners just squeaked ahead of Sydney (despite no-one actually tipping them to finish Premiers again) and Adelaide/Melbourne came down to median. Perth got as high as a 3rd placing in individual scores but still came last, and Wellington had the least common ground with anywhere from 1st (not a NZ writer either) to 8th (at least someone will be right on the Nix!)
