Bulli Done By Dandy Round 3

A double strike from Ilija Prenzoski helped secure Dandaloo's first points of the season in a hard-fought game at Bulli on Good Friday.
Prenzoski, previously a winner of the NSW Premier League Player of the Year when with Belconnen Blue Devils, scored his first just before half time when he was able to knock in to an empty net after Allan McLeish parried an initial Dandaloo shot. The ball was then set up nicely for Prenzoski who slotted it away.
Dandaloo had certainly the better of the game during the first half and their lead was deserved. Prenzoski could, in fact, have scored after only 43 seconds after neatly chipping McLeish but the shot was just headed clear of the goal by Luke Zadkovich.
Dandaloo had control of the midfield with Chris Jackson, Steve Krishna and Matthew O'Shea working hard while Paul Gaffney, out wide, also impressed. Bulli were no doubt hindered by the early loss of Shane McGirr, who suffered a head injury in just the first few minutes and had to be replaced.
But in a match played alternately in bright sunshine and then driving rain, it was Dandaloo who looked most likely to win, although not without a fight. Bulli did equalise on 70 minutes when Matthew Bailey shot from outside the box and his effort cannoned off Scott Whalan's right hand post, giving the keeper no chance.
But just five minutes later, Prenzoski got on the end of a superb Gaffney cross, and headed wide of McLeish for what would prove to be the winner.
Bulli pushed hard for another equaliser and a late direct freekick by Michael Clare just flew over.
But, in the end, it was Dandaloo who deservedly got all three points and finally got their season off to a start.
