Matildas Squad for WCQ

06/07/2006: The Qantas Matildas squad for the AFC Women's Asian Cup to be played in Adelaide from 16-30 July 2006 has been announced:
Goalkeepers - Melissa Barbieri, Lydia Williams; Defence - Rhian Davies, Kate McShea, Thea Slatyer, Dianne Alagich, Cheryl Salisbury, Karla Reuter, Heather Garriock; Midfield - Sally Shipard, Alicia Ferguson, Kylie Ledbrook, Joanne Peters, Collette McCallum, Leah Blayney; Forwards - Joanne Burgess, Sarah Walsh, Kathryn Gill, Caitlin Munoz, Lisa DeVanna; Qantas Matildas Coach - Tom Sermanni. The tournament has added importance as it also serves as the qualifier for the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup which will be held in China.
