Parramatta Power 2 - Olympic Sharks 2

A late free kick struck curling toward inside the right upright grabbed a point back for Parramatta Power, as they drew 2-2 with Olympic Sharks at Parramatta Stadium on Easter Sunday night. Olympic should have won this scintillating encounter which ebbed and flowed from end to end, but the determination of Power, and some sloppy defensive work by the Olympic defence let them back in. Perth Glory 4 - Newcastle United 0

The NSL finals had probably their most dramatic match at Perth Oval this evening as Perth Glory recorded, what on paper was an easy 4-0 victory over Newcastle United. However nothing could be further from the truth as Newcastle will consider themselves hard done by after being on the receiving end of 3 bad officiating decisions. Perth Glory also had their problems with a clear hand ball in the penalty area missed by the referee. If that was not enough drama for any match add in Newcastle's assistant Gary van Egmond sent from the touchline by the referee and young Josh Mitchell red carded for abusive language in his first senior game and you can see that the crowd really got their money's worth. Northern Spirit 1 - Adelaide City 2

Another wet Friday night at North Sydney Oval. Another Adelaide City victory. Simply stated it was another disappointment for the hardy Spirit fans, just 2,350 of them now, who had braved the wintery showers to turn up for what was the second home game of the Finals' series. There were first half chances for both sides and the visitors were playing their usual smart game, taking few risks and keeping possession as much as possible. Their counter-attacking abilities have been well documented and they relied on those once again to eventually overhaul the locals
2-1.
