20/08/2008: Australia's Socceroos could only draw 2-2 with South Africa's Bafana Bafana at Loftus Road Stadium in London this morning. In the second last warm up game before taking on Uzbekistan in the World Cup qualifier. Australia were on top in the first half, but this was overturned by a more cohesive South Africa in the second. Pim Verbeek gave a debut to Richard Garcia (pictured). The seven Australian based Hyundai A-League clubs will participate in the exciting 21 round competition which will begin on Friday 26 September 2008 ... Chris Dunkerley gives his opinion .. [ Youth .... ] Women's Football: The FFA and Westfield Group today announced a landmark agreement in support of the fastest growing team sport for women in the country – women’s football. The Westfield's support will range from the 'Westfield Championship for Girls', the establishment of a new national women’s league known as the 'Westfield W-League', and the national women's team to be known as the 'Westfield Matildas'. The Westfield W-League will comprise teams from each of the seven Australian Hyundai A-League clubs, plus one from Canberra. It will start at the end of October this year.
